today i got the 2002-11-16 Oklahoma and 2002-10-28 Lowell Tool dvds. I
traded for these with a guy named Tommy Phu, who sells them on ebay. these
dvds are VCD sourced. in fact, the oklahoma
dvd that he sells is a dvd-encoded copy of my lossless-resynced
vcd version of this bootleg. one suntzu420 was justified in yelling at
me for sharing that show on various tool dc++ hubs. from here on out,
i get source information for shows i'm trading for. this experience will
result in some updates to my trading policies page when i get a chance.

for the sake of thoth people, do not encode lossy
files to lossless~! don't take ac3 audio from a dvd and encode it to shn,
don't take mp2 files from a vcd and encode them to shn, and do not
re-encode vcd files to dvd (then passing it off as dvd video). it doesn't
work like that! just share the compressed file. it is identical, and it
will save some harddrive space!

there are many ways to to author (S)VCD -> DVD with no re-encoding
(no quality loss).

i just heard about the 1997-08-15 Concord, CA tool show, and there are
seperate audio and video sources (methinks). looking into the feasability
of a lossless-resync on it, and also looking for a copy of the video!
i have heard good things. I have contacted a couple people for trades,
but no one has replied yet. is all hope lost? i hope not...
