Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Psalms 150: 4
Sunday July 16, 2006, The Exeland Wi. United Methodist Church celebrated with mother in recognition of her 70 years service as Church Organist....On July 18th, she turned 97 years old. I took several pictures of the occasion but have narrowed it down to my favorite candids as I did not have the space to include all... ( I have another page of memories of the day on "Praise Him Two.")
Mother re-told days of old To congregation and Pastor Mark B; When pump organs were then in vogue Her tired legs got a work out in song While the services labored long!
Two boys with their mother Excel at an early age.... From big daring brother to little darling brother, Scooting up the stage. *************************** (Granddaughter and great grandsons Of the church organist.)
Bonnie, and her daughter Christy Singing one of our mother's songs, The window lighting soft and misty Swept in the presence of God.. ********************** (Bonnie and Christy are the oldest daughter and granddaughter of the Church Organist.)
More great singing and a bird act.... This family exuded joy with impact.
Rosemary brought love songs to the Lord.... As Marlin played the accordian keyboard..
Shepherds afar Sing God's word Praising the Lord Strumming guitar.. *************** (Rev. Mark P. on the left is a former pastor of this Methodist Church.)
Mom, and Thelma, an old friend Share memories of many years ago They both knew Reverend Fergusen A VERY long winded fellow... ********************** (One positive way of looking at this is that mother got tons of exercise dancing her feet on the pump organ pedals to produce melodious music.) As someone so astutely mentioned in church this is probably why she's been blessed to live 97 years.
