Tess, informed
her visiting cousin little Beth,
Santa Claus wasn't
alive...He was only pretense;
Nor did he e'er
buy anyone Christmas presents.
Beth cried, tears
into her Flote Grot pudding dish.
She exclaimed,
"you are wrong.. I KNOW he exists!!!"
Tess, professed
there wasn't a merry ole' soul,
Who had busy
elves working at the North Pole.
Nor did he own,
Rudolph
the Red Nosed reindeer!
When told
he'd ne'er e'en filled one gift stocking,
Beth was disturbed...
this news was too shocking!
Tess could only
be telling cruel jokes..and not truth;
Beth knew
Santa wasn't a hoax for she beheld the proof.
She'd heard the
sleigh bells...the loud clapping of hoofs,
Recalled the
distinct way Santa rapped on the door...
His big
worn boots left heel tracks on the wood floor!
Christmas
music played on the old family phonograph...
With songs like
"Here comes Santa Claus"
fun and so jolly,
As Santa waltzed
into the tinselled hall amongst the holly.
He was
scheduled at the mall to pose in a group photograph,
But he, unlaced
his heavy knap- sack, slung o'er his back..
Pre·occupied
he appeared..with more tasks left to do....
He tugged on
his beard.. and asked, "what did I forget?"
OH OH... something
yipped, it would be Beth's surprise.
He ripped open
his knap- sack and out jumped a cute pet.
"HO HO HO....Here
I go...ooo "... Santa waved an adieu.
Giving the spirit
of Christmas, this living Santa Claus
Knew that
whilst puppies nipped and had sharp claws,
With love and
attention they became a child's best friend.
Dogs instruct
.. and counsel.. to show all the right reasons
Why God's special
creatures light up the night seasons.
