With
each leaf to fall it is re-written today
Etched
from God's hands, He could not delay
He
had to work fast or the leaf would decay;
Bold
lines crossed veins giving heart to design
Signed
and engraved by the Saviour divine!
Oct. 26, 2003, Dorsey, brought
in the solitary gold maple leaf
shown in the picture below, and
set it in a vase..He said, "this is
a decomposed leaf." I was
awed by the unique beauty of it.
The edges were sharply delineated
as if outlined in black ink.
I wished not to think of it then
in terms of decomposedbut that
it had been merely re-written and
composed in a new form.
(Even though it would deteriorate
rapidly by the next day.)
Earlier I had been feeling a little
let down because everything
was looking drab outside after
all the leaves had fallen. But
now felt rejuvenated to go outside
to see leaves in a new light!
An
old leaf that is decomposing
Is
in a new state of recomposing
Sharply
delineated and defined
Branching
out singular and refined
Forming
patterns of life outlined.
Sometimes
it is okay to feel a little let down
As
then we may lower our eyes to the ground;
For
to see like a small dog to fetch and retrieve
Is
to crawl at her level..knee deep in the leaves,
Thus
to find gifts that fall..from God to receive.
