frog serenading

Leaping upon the Poppy head
Is a green tree froggie amphibian
He devours bugs in flower beds
Scouring picket fences with big grin.

With his hand on microphone
He sets down nail to hammer;
 His  gravily  hoarse baritone
Booms noisily with clamor.

Many crickets chirp along
To lend flavor to the song
 Froggie croaks.. then  burps
 Til raw throat begins to hurt.

frog climbing tree

The tree frogs have thirteen species,
Most are two inches long or less.
They have suction pads at toes tips
And they climb  vertically  with ease.

Several dozen eggs in each patch females lay;
Within one week... hatch into tiny tad poles~
They are born near bogs and water holes,
Male frog's  sing..."HAPPY FATHER'S   DAY!"

In dedication to father's everywhere.
Some of the verses underneath my photo, " Green tree Frog"
contain true facts from Reader's Digest No. American Wildlife,
otherwise the rest of my poetry of course is fiction and fantasy.
("The frog in the poppy" photo on top of my page is a product
 of my imagination with the help of Adobe photo Deluxe.)
