He is like a man which built an house, digged deep and laid the
foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat
vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was
founded upon rock....St. Luke 6-48

Digging deeper

Fragile houses  are destroyed

That storms of life beat apart...

But the love from Jesus heart,

Brings rich rewards enjoyed....

A measure of good wisdom

Is faith built upon solid rock..

The foundations door to unlock,

Holds keys to find the kingdom...

 Squirrels dig e'en deeper,

For rations buried in the snow.

The Lord serves as nations keeper,

He preserves the world below..

squirrel taking a breather
Digging for treasure

We watched for some time a little grey squirrel dig deeply in the snow with strict discipline,
underneath our dining room window...Every once in awhile it would rise above the hole it dug
to gasp for air. Finally it found what it wanted and  leaped up into the Elm tree to eat his
much sought after snack...I marvelled how he seemed to know and remember the precise spot
where it had buried the food...I stood on a chair to take the pictures angling my digital
camera downwards to catch the action...The photos are not as sharp as they could be,
due to the plastic covering our windows to keep out the winter draft...But the meaning of
my poetry hopefully is clearer and what the message conveys is more important.
